Services

What We Do

We provide an initial evaluation and treatment plan, and then one-on-one sessions are conducted once to twice a week for 30-55 minutes. We bill Medicare Part B, Managed Care Providers and other private insurance companies for services rendered. Clients are responsible to pay for deductibles and co-pays. Our management team will check eligibility and benefits prior to services beginning, and will work with clients regarding out of pocket expenses.

We strive to meet the psychological, emotional and cognitive needs of our clients with compassion, advocacy, respect, and encouragement.  All of our services are tailored to the individual needs of each client, to help them achieve emotional well-being and an optimal level of functioning.  One of our clinicians will initially meet with you to complete a comprehensive evaluation of your concerns and needs, and when appropriate, may seek the input of your family members or senior living staff.

The clinician will ask you to participate in developing an individual treatment plan that outlines your goals and objectives, along with the services planned to achieve these goals. Your treatment plan may involve meeting with the clinician once or twice each week for individual therapy, or a combination of therapy and cognitive training.  In some cases, you may ask a family member to participate in therapy.

Psychotherapy: Our approach in providing psychotherapy will vary based on your specific needs, but will help you learn skills and strategies to improve your mood, behavior, and adjustment to your living situation or current circumstances. Our clients often respond well to approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Validation Therapy.

Cognitive Training: Our approach in providing psychotherapy will vary based on your specific needs, but will help you learn skills and strategies to improve your mood, behavior, and adjustment to your living situation or current circumstances. Our clients often respond well to approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Validation Therapy.

Our clients generally find these exercises to be a challenging and fun way to improve their skills. In addition, our clinicians teach clients to use tools and strategies to compensate for specific weaknesses in their cognitive functioning, such as calendars, day/date clocks, lists, and other organizational methods.

Reminiscence therapy may also be used to help clients exercise and maintain long-term memory, which can also enhance emotional well-being.  Finally, our clinicians will encourage and support the choices necessary to preserve and maintain a healthy brain.

Cognitive Training:

Our approach to help you stabilize or improve cognitive functioning may involve a variety of techniques. We utilize a scientific computer-based program of cognitive exercises to improve functioning in the areas of executive functioning (logic, reasoning, problem-solving), verbal, visual, spatial, and auditory memory, visual attention, and processing speed.

Emotional Changes

We assess and treat depression, anxiety, adjustment concerns, and mood disorders.

Cognitive Impairment

We provide a memory assessment and treatment to help slow the progression and stabilize the decline of memory functioning.
