Who We Are

Cognitive Care Counseling, PLLC is a fully licensed and insured practice providing comprehensive psychotherapy and cognitive training. We primarily work with residents of Senior Living Communities (including Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care) throughout the Chicagoland area. We also provide services to seniors and adults in their own homes or via telehealth when appropriate.

Our clinicians are experienced therapists with specialized training in cognitive impairment.  We work collaboratively with families, senior living communities, and healthcare providers to support each client’s emotional and cognitive well-being.

Our Mission and Values

We are committed to providing compassion, advocacy, respect and encouragement, by providing affordable psychotherapy and cognitive training to our geriatric population. Our mission is to support emotional wellness, preserve dignity, and help clients age in place with confidence. Through psychotherapy and cognitive training, we provide practical tools and meaningful support to help clients navigate life’s transitions and daily challenges.

Who We Serve

We work with seniors experiencing challenges commonly associated with aging, including:

·         Grief and loss

·         Changes in independence or living environment

·         Anxiety and depression

·         Social isolation

·         Relationship conflicts

·         Adjustment to medical or cognitive changes

Many clients also experience cognitive changes such as memory lapses, confusion, disorientation, difficulty concentrating, or challenges with communications and problem-solving. We support clients with cognitive impairment ranging from mild memory concerns to moderate dementia related neurological or medical conditions.

What You Can Expect

When you contact us, we will explain our services, answer your questions, and gather information about your concerns and insurance coverage. Our services are covered by Medicare Part B and several Managed Care PPO and secondary insurance plans.  We do not participate in HMO plans. Clients are responsible for applicable co-pays and deductibles. We verify insurance benefits and eligibility prior to the start of services.

An initial comprehensive evaluation will help us understand your needs and develop an individualized treatment plan. With your permission we may collaborate with family members or senior living staff to ensure coordinated care.

Treatment may include weekly or bi-weekly sessions and may combine psychotherapy and cognitive training, depending on your needs and goals.

Emotional Changes

We assess and treat depression, anxiety, adjustment concerns, and mood disorders.

Cognitive Impairment

We provide a memory assessment and treatment to help slow the progression and stabilize the decline of memory functioning.
