Who We Are

Cognitive Care Counseling, PLLC is a fully licensed and insured practice providing comprehensive psychotherapy and cognitive training. We work primarily with residents of Senior Living Communities (e.g. Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care) in the Chicagoland area. Please click on the tab above for “Services” to learn more about what we do.

We also provide services to seniors and other adults in their own homes or through telehealth when necessary and appropriate. All of our clinicians are experienced therapists, who also have specialized training to address cognitive impairment.  Please click on the tab above for “Our Team” to meet each of our clinicians.

Our Mission and Values

We strive to offer compassion, advocacy, respect and encouragement, by providing excellent and affordable full-service psychotherapy and cognitive training to our geriatric population. We are dedicated to providing an emotional outlet and techniques for clients to cope effectively with day-to-day problems and to continue to age in place with dignity and respect. We partner with Senior Living Communities and Healthcare Providers to support the cognitive and emotional well-being of our clients.

Who We Serve

We work primarily with seniors who are experiencing challenges that often come with aging – loss of loved ones, loss of independence, changes in their living situation, declining memory skills and other cognitive functions, declining physical health, as well as other adjustment issues. Our clients often present with a variety of mood and behavioral problems, including anxiety, depression, social isolation, and conflicts in their relationships with others.

These issues are often complicated by declining cognitive skills that are evident in memory lapses, disorientation to time/place, confusion, lack of organization and concentration, and difficulties with communication, logic and problem-solving. We work with clients whose cognitive impairment may range from mild memory loss to advanced dementia, which is often due to neurological and other physical conditions.

What You Can Expect

When you contact us, we will explain our services and answer any questions you might have.  We will also collect initial information about your particular concerns, along with information on your current health insurance plans.  We will make an initial determination about your appropriateness for services, and the coverage available under your insurance plans.

Our services are covered by Medicare Part B, several Managed Care PPO Plans, and secondary insurance plans.  Clients are responsible for their co-pays and deductibles required by their insurance plans.  We do not participate in any HMO insurance plans.

Our team will work with you to better understand your insurance plan and will check eligibility before you begin receiving services.  We are always available to answer any billing questions.
